Tinubu Swears In Former CDS; General Christopher Musa As Defence Minister

President Bola Tinubu has sworn in General Christopher Musa, former Chief of Defence Staff, as Nigeria’s new Minister of Defence. This move comes after Musa’s confirmation by the Senate, where he was grilled for over five hours on security matters, including the recent abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State.

Musa, a seasoned military officer, has vowed to prioritize Nigeria’s security, emphasizing the need for collective effort and intelligence-led operations. He has also promised to investigate the killing of Brigadier-General Musa Uba and other attacks on senior military officers.

The appointment has been welcomed by various stakeholders, including the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Diaspora Tinubu Support Group, who praise Musa’s experience and commitment to national security.

As Defence Minister, Musa is expected to drive reforms in Nigeria’s security architecture and strengthen the country’s response to terrorism, banditry, and other threats.
