School Building Collapse In Lagos: No Casualities Reported, Students Relocated

A classroom block at Odokerere High School in Ikorodu, Lagos, collapsed on Thursday, January 15, 2026, sparking concerns over public school infrastructure safety. Thankfully, no casualties were recorded as students quickly escaped the scene. The Lagos State Government has ordered the relocation of affected students to nearby schools to prevent disruption to academic activities.

The collapsed building had been earmarked for demolition to make way for a new, modern structure. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has directed officials to conduct an on-the-spot assessment and finalize arrangements for reconstruction.
