Kwara Kaima Massacre: Tinubu Orders Emergency Security Meeting Amid Global Outrage

President Bola Tinubu has convened an emergency security meeting following the brutal attack on Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama, Kwara State, which claimed over 160 lives. The United States, the United Nations, and Türkiye have condemned the attack, with the US backing Tinubu’s deployment of security forces to protect affected communities.

Tinubu has ordered the deployment of an army battalion to Kaiama and established a new military command, Operation Savannah Shield, to combat the terrorists. The attack, attributed to jihadist fighters, has sparked widespread outrage and calls for stronger security measures.

The President has directed federal and state agencies to provide relief to affected communities and ensure perpetrators are brought to justice. Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has visited the affected areas, assuring residents of federal support.
