Hon. Oluwafemi Odunayo Daniel Inaugurates The Executive Council, Solicits Cooperation And Loyalty

The Executive Chairman of Itire–Ikate Local Council Development Area, Hon. Oluwafemi Odunayo Daniel, has officially inaugurated members of the Executive Council comprising the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Supervisory Councillors, and Special Advisers, at a colourful ceremony held at the Council Secretariat, Airways Road, Ijesha.

During the ceremony, the Oath of Office and Oath of Secrecy were administered to the newly sworn-in cabinet members, formally ushering them into their respective roles within the administration.

   

In his address, the Executive Chairman congratulated the appointees. He noted that their selection followed extensive consultations with party leaders, community stakeholders, and other critical interest groups within the LCDA, to ensure inclusiveness and broad representation across the council area.

 

He charged the newly inaugurated officials to discharge their duties with diligence, loyalty, and a strong sense of responsibility, emphasizing that they must view themselves as partners in progress committed to advancing the administration’s developmental agenda.

Hon. Odunayo Daniel further stressed the importance of teamwork, unity, and mutual respect within the Executive Council, cautioning against the importation of political caucuses into the workings of the cabinet, which, he said, could create unnecessary distractions, disruptions, and disunity capable of undermining effective governance. He assured residents that the administration remains committed to improving service delivery, particularly in key sectors such as health, education, and infrastructure, noting that the Supervisory Councillors will provide strategic oversight across various departments within the council to ensure efficiency and responsiveness to the needs of the people.

 

The Chairman also encouraged residents to begin preparations ahead of the 2027 General Elections by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), stressing that active civic participation remains vital to strengthening democratic governance.

Hakeem Adisa Bamgbola and Hon. (Dr.) Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira; notable APC leaders within Itire–Ikate LCDA; the Vice Chairman, Hon. Yetunde Jimba; the Wife of the Executive Chairman, Mrs. Vivian Odunayo; the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Councillor Andrew Olaoluwa Andrew, alongside other Honourable Councillors; the Council Manager, Mrs. Oluwakemi Ajose; members of the management team, political stakeholders, community leaders, as well as friends, families, and well-wishers of the newly appointed officials.
