Oyo Kidnapping: Principal Speaks Out Amid Concerns Over Sharia Law And Money

The school principal, Mrs. Alamu, is seen in a new video purportedly released by terrorists holding kidnapped students and teachers in Oyo State, making a fresh appeal while denying widely circulated reports about the demands of the kidnappers.

In the poignant video, Mrs. Alamu refuted rumors circulating in traditional and social media that the kidnappers were requesting weapons, a ransom, or the implementation of Sharia law. She maintained that these reports were false and were making the captives’ predicament worse.

Pls I want to make some clarifications. Today makes it the 24th day that we have been in this place and it seems that some people are making our problems to be complicated already,” she said in the video.

“We were shown some print media where it was stated that these people that abducted us requested for their release. They said they requested for a billionaire naira. They requested for Sharia to be entrenched in the country. These are not true. They are just trying to create problems for us.”

“We have been here since we have not been forced to worship in Islamic way. They have not troubled us concerning that. They are not asking for Sharia law. They are not asking for money. The single thing they are asking for is the release of some of their people,” she said, urging Nigerians to help spread the message.”

“All they want is the release of some of their people. The government will negotiate with them and know those that they will release for them.”

In light of this disturbing incident, it is imperative that drastic action be taken to ensure the safety and well-being of our children.

The kids must come together and unite with their parents to stand against such threats and to foster a secure environment for their growth and development. Only through collective effort and decisive measures can we prevent future occurrences and safeguard the future of our young generation.
