“2027 STRATEGY TALKS?” Tinubu Meets APC Governors in Closed-Door Villa Session

President Bola Tinubu is currently in a closed-door meeting with governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting with the Progressives Governors Forum, PGF, began shortly before 4:00pm on Thursday and was still ongoing at the time of filing this report.

The engagement came immediately after the governors attended a separate session of the National Economic Council, NEC, chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

As of press time, the agenda of the meeting with the President had not been officially disclosed.

The meeting comes at a politically sensitive time:

1. 8 days after the official commencement of campaigns for the 2027 general election, in line with INEC’s timetable.
2. 5 days after the APC released the list of members of its Presidential Campaign Council, to be led by former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, as Director-General.

Political observers say the timing suggests discussions may center on party strategy, campaign coordination, and state-level mobilization ahead of 2027.

No official statement has been released yet from the Presidency or the PGF on the outcome of the meeting.
