Former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate Segun “Sheggz” Olusemo has refuted allegations that he was financially reliant on his former girlfriend Bella Okagbue while they were dating.
In a recent conversation with Nigerian social media influencer Oyemykke, who is based in the UK, the reality TV star addressed the rumors and refuted claims that he took money from Bella while they were dating.
According to Sheggz, the story only became popular after they broke up without getting married. Additionally, he denied being a “gigolo” and asserted that he made a greater financial contribution to the partnership.
“I’m not a gigolo. Bro, is it possible? I have a job. I make money as I work hard,” he said.
”I have my house in London and I have my house in Banana Island, Lagos. I’ve been balling since way back.”
“She lived with me; I provided everything for her. As I gave her a car, I did everything for her. I loved her to bits. That was my girl. If we got married, this wouldn’t be a conversation.
“Because we didn’t get married, now everyone is saying crazy stuff.”
The reality star maintained that the portrayal of their financial arrangement was unfair.
“I’m not saying she’s lying. She brought stuff to the table. It’s 70/30. She’s a woman; she works as well. She’s a star too; we’re both stars,” he said.
Ultimately, I don’t like the idea of them airing their private issues in public. Even if they’re no longer together, that doesn’t mean they should bring their dirty laundry outside. They can still remain friends and treat each other with respect, even if they’re no longer in a relationship.
