Police Man Kills Young Boy In Kogi Over N20 Sachet 'Pure' Water

The death of a young child caused by a police officer, who is still unknown, over a N20 sachet pure water has caused panic in the Kabba region of Kogi State.

According to the Daily Post, the killing of the boy sparked a large demonstration in Kabba town on Saturday by irate youths in the area.

It was also learned that the demonstrators besieged the Kabba police station, singing war songs, while the police used tear gas to disperse the crowd.

According to eyewitness accounts, the youngster was reported to have taken a sachet of pure water belonging to the policeman from the policeman’s car to drink before he was killed.

On Saturday, Kogi State Commissioner of Police CO Edward Egbuka verified the event to Daily Post.

Egbuka, on the other hand, stated that a preliminary investigation from the Area Commander of the Police found that the accused officer just attempted to defend himself during an encounter with the deceased victim.

For the time being, Kabba police are working feverishly to calm the unrest, with the Commissioner of Police promising a probe into the reason of the homicide.
