Nigerian Men Volunteer To Fight War Against Russia, Embassy Welcomes Them

Nearly 115 young Nigerians surrounded the Ukrainian embassy in Abuja on March 1st, offering to help the European country combat the Russian invasion.

Remember that Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy, accused Russia of killing civilians and commended Ukrainians for their heroism in defending their nation. Anyone who wanted to join the struggle against the Russian invasion, Zelenskyy said, should come and fight alongside Ukrainians.

According to the Guardian, the men who surrounded the Ukraine Embassy in Abuja also signed a register presented by the embassy.

Reporters were prohibited from taking photos, according to the Second Secretary of the Ukraine Embassy, Bohdan Soltys, who confirmed the development but said no action had been taken yet.

However, many Nigerians believe that volunteers are looking for an easy way out of the country.
