Nigerian Man Murders His Father For Disturbing His Sleep

Ibrahim Sikiru, a 27-year-old man from Ogun State, has been arrested for reportedly murdering his biological father, Mumuni Ibrahim.

The culprit was apprehended after a report was filed at the Onipanu divisional headquarters by Mr. Abiodun Sunday, who was said to be the victim’s neighbor.

The father, who worked as a security personnel, had gone home in the morning and found his son sleeping, according to the witness.

The man then questioned his son on why he was still sleeping at that time. His son became enraged and attacked his father in various places on his body with a machete.

Upon receiving the information, the DPO of the Onipanu division, CSP Bamidele Job, promptly organized his men and rushed to the area where the suspect was detained, police spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi told journalists on Saturday in Abeokuta.

He added that the squad also rushed the wounded man to a general hospital for treatment, but the victim eventually died.

The police “strongly suspects” the boy of being a cultist, Oyeyemi said, adding that he “has no reasonable explanation for his actions when interrogated.”
