UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, Many Others Barred From Entering Russian

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and other senior UK ministers have been barred from entering Russia due to the United Kingdom’s “hostile” posture towards the country over the Ukraine conflict.

The UK government has been harsh in its sanctions against Russia after President Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine and has supplied millions of pounds in military aid to Ukraine, which has helped the country fend off the Russian military’s onslaught.

Russia prohibited UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, Defence Secretary Ben Wallace, and ten other Cabinet officials from entering the country on Saturday, April 16.

Moscow claimed the move was done in revenge for the United Kingdom’s sanctions against Russia following its invasion of Ukraine.

In a statement, Russia’s foreign ministry stated that its action is a result of “London’s unbridled information and political campaign aimed at isolating Russia internationally, creating conditions for containing our country and strangling the domestic economy.

“In essence, the British leadership is deliberately aggravating the situation around Ukraine, pumping the Kyiv regime with lethal weapons and coordinating similar efforts on the part of Nato.”
