EFCC Captures 25 ‘Yahoo Boys’ In Criminal Hideout

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Makurdi Zonal Command, has detained 25 suspected internet fraudsters (also known as Yahoo Boys) in Benue State.

The accused were apprehended in a sting operation in Otukpo, Benue State, in the early hours of Monday, June 13, 2022.

E. Francis, A. Emmanuel, M. Wakili, C. Francis, I. Emmanuel, J. Williams, P. Idoko, M. Itodo, S. Abah, O. Ameh, O. Samson, O. Amuta, and O. Precious are among the 25 suspects who were apprehended in their hideouts following a credible intelligence on their alleged internet fraud-related activities. Others are O. Solomon, N. Alex, O. Emmanuel, E. Godwin, O. Ochigbo, E. Chukwu, W. Godwin, Y. Elijah, V. Godwin, L. Owoicho, A. Augustine and O. Moses.

Mobile phones and PCs of various brands were among the items found with them.

The suspects have provided valuable information, according to the anti-graft agency, and will be arraigned in court as soon as the investigation is completed.
