FG Tells Google To Shut Down All Youtube Accounts Belonging To IPOB Members

The Nigerian government has asked Google to ban YouTube channels belonging to members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

According to NAN, Lai Mohammed, the minister of information and culture, based his argument on IPOB’s status as a proscribed organization.

Mohammed made the call on Thursday in Abuja while hosting a group of Google representatives.

He named a number of them, including Asa Biafra TV, Biafra Digest TV, Umu Biafra TV, and Biafra Digest.

The minister bemoaned the fact that some of these channels broadcast in local languages and dialects to avoid being regulated.

He said, “Your platform is a platform of choice for IPOB, a proscribed terrorist group.

“We implore you not to make your platform available to them for their acts of violence and destabilization.

“We hope you will cooperate with us as well as our security agencies in this direction.”
