Pray For Osun Peaceful Transition, Adeleke Urges Clerics

Osun State governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has called on religious leaders to intensify prayers for the state to experience peaceful transition next month.

This was contained in a statement obtained in Osogbo on Saturday signed by Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on the occasion of Prophet Muhammed’s birthday anniversary.

Adeleke, who declared that the prayers of clerics and their congregations remained indispensable, said wellbeing of Osun must be put on the front burner.

The statement read in part, “I join Muslim faithfuls locally and internationally to mark this significant and sacred day when the messenger of Allah entered this world thereby starting new wave of revival and expansion of faith in Almighty God.

“As we celebrate in prayers and rededication to teachings of our Prophet, I urge our religious leaders to intensify prayers for a peaceful transition of power next month.”

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
