Avoiding SIN

Sin is not beautiful, joyful or fun like many think it is. Just wait until it’s done, and then its real colours show up. “Sin gives birth to death!” A bad person may seem to get away with his sin for a while, but there is always a huge price to pay for every evil done on the earth, and sin will always bring its curse and punishment in the end.

In fact, if we could see everything, we would see that living a good life has much better results, even on a daily basis, than living a bad life. “Sorrow follows wrong just like an echo follows a song.” The peace that comes from doing what God says, is far more to be desired than the guilt we feel from doing wrong.

A story is told of a young man who got into a tough situation. Almost all of the young men he knew drank. He looked at the older men around him and thought about what drinking had done to those who had started when they were young. Then he looked at the men who in their younger days resolved to not follow the way of alcohol. The difference between these two groups was all he needed to make the wise decision to abstain.

If such a man could compare the two lives and see them in a fair and honest way, we too can do same. There are more than enough examples around us to vividly illustrate the destructive power of sin. To be wise is to learn from the mistakes of many around us.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
