Tamela Mann; Gospel Singer

Tamela Mann, a contemporary gospel singer, got her start in the gospel music industry as a member of the ensemble “Kirk Franklin and the Family.”

Mann sang as a soloist on some of the band’s most well-known songs, such as “Lean On Me” and “Don’t Take Your Joy Away.” She later appeared in the Christian musical “He Say… She Say… But What Does God Say?” as the lead singer before pursuing a solo career and releasing the albums Gotta Keep Movin (2005), and The Master Plan (2009).

Tamela and her husband; David, who is also a gospel singer, started their own record label in 2005. The main song from Mann’s debut album, “Speak Lord,” reached #4 on the Gospel charts the same year it was released.
