“People In Aso Rock Fighting Tinubu’s Victory” – Fani Kayode

Femi Fani-Kayode, the director of new media for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, claimed that some people working in the Presidential Villa were supporting Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate.

Fani-Kayode’s said this during an appearance on Channels TV’s Politics Today in response to Nasir El-rufai, the governor of Kaduna State, making an outburst.

El-rufai had earlier on Wednesday said that some individuals in Aso Rock were conspiring against Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate.

According to Fani-Kayode, “All these distractions are very disturbing because we are working hard but some people are working to throw obstacles on our path to make sure that this transition does not go smoothly. My view is that some may be working for candidates I consider weak like Atiku.”

Additionally, the former minister of aviation argued that the Central Bank of Nigeria’s governor, Godwin Emefiele, had recently implemented several questionable policies.

“I find questionable the policies of the governor of the Central Bank. I don’t question the policy itself but the timing. People are suffering; people are going through hell; they can’t achieve anything. But this is what they are going to do,” he said.

Meanwhile, Charles Aniagwu, a spokesperson for the Atiku campaign, responded by saying that APC was blackmailing and attacking President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to Aniagwu, because President Buhari committed to holding credible elections in 2023, the APC was targeting and blackmailing him.

He said, “All this blackmail by the APC it’s because the president is determined to leave behind a very credible election. And for us in the PDP, we support the attempt by the president to leave behind a very credible election.

“Why are they crying more than the bereaved? The opposition should be the one to cry. They are the ones attacking the president.”

“A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.”
