INEC Should Have Had Pictures Of Presidential Candidates On Ballot Papers – Obi

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has lamented the omission of the party’s logo on the ballot papers sent to some states.

Speaking shortly after voting in his polling unit in Agulu area of Aniocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, Obi said he expects Nigeria to have gone the way of other smaller African nations where even photographs of the candidates appear on the ballot papers.

He said it is surprising why INEC didn’t have pictures of the presidential candidates since they are just 18 in number.

He said “We expected the ballot paper to show clearly the LP sign but it wasn’t there. Someone told me that in some states, the logo is completely missing. I am worried and I don’t know how it should be”.

“I think now, we should have been going the way other smaller nations of Africa are doing, like Ghana where they did not only have the names, they have your pictures boldly written and the party”.

“After all, it is only 18 of us that are contesting. They should have had our pictures. I am not complaining, it is the process”.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
