Ex-Deputy National Chairperson of the PDP; Bode George, has refuted claims that Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu; Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), met with Bola Tinubu in Lagos.
The electoral chief, according to rumors in circulation, arrived in Lagos aboard a private plane owned by the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, and flew out of Lagos the same night.
In response, Bode George said the assertion “must have arisen from deranged people” and was an attempt to confuse the political system.
I don’t work at the Control Tower or Cargo Section of the airport. I am not an official of INEC, so how will I know the movement of the INEC Chairman?
“Everybody knows he is in Abuja as the Chief Returning Officer of the presidential election.”
The lawmaker said that after casting his ballot, he and his wife went home to watch election coverage on several television networks.
George revealed famous Nigerians had been contacting him “because of this ridiculous statement,” adding that no one could use him to get easy political points.
The PDP chieftain asks that the election results be broadcast right away and says he believes those who are against BVAS made up the comment that was attributed to him.
