President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has once again been chosen to rule Turkey, according to the head of the Supreme Election Council (YSK).
Yener said that Erdogan defeated opposition opponent Kemal Kilicdaroglu in the runoff election for the presidency of Turkey.
He emphasized that after counting 99.43 percent of the votes, Erdogan received 52.14 percent of the vote, while Kilicdaroglu received 47.86 percent.
President Erdogan declared that the 85 million people who make up Turkey’s population are the winners of the elections that ended today in a speech delivered in Istanbul late on Sunday.
Over 1.92 million voters who had previously cast ballots in abroad polling places were among the more than 64.1 million registered voters.
Voters’ voting boxes totaling about 192,000 were placed throughout Turkey.
Despite Erdogan taking the lead with 49.52% on May 14, no candidate was able to secure the necessary 50% of the vote in the first round, which led to a runoff on Sunday.
Erdogan’s People’s Alliance also gained a parliamentary majority on that day.

As Turkey’s most significant leader in modern history led a sea of fans in jubilant song outside his presidential palace in Ankara, the city’s streets erupted in car-honking jubilation and tributes flowed in from all over the world.
“We should come together in unity and solidarity,” Erdogan told the chanting and flag-waving crowd.
“We call for this with all our heart.”
