Uncle Sentenced To 18yrs In Prison For Raping His Little Niece

A 56-year-old man who s*xually molested his 13-year-old niece in Galeshewe in front of her cousin received an 18-year prison term. The man was declared guilty of rape by the Galeshewe Regional Court.

The victim and her cousin were called by their uncle on December 9, 2018, and that is when the crime took place. He invited them into his shack, shut it, and then started raping the young girl who happens to be his niece right in front of her cousin.

The victim promptly filed a charge at the neighborhood police station after telling her grandmother about the incident.

The suspect was quickly taken into jail that day and held there until his sentence at the Galeshewe Regional Court on June 12, 2023. The provincial police spokeswoman, Lt. Col. Sergio Kock, confirmed these facts.

Kock added that the convicted uncle’s name had been entered into the National Register for S*x Offenders and that he had been sentenced to a direct 18-year jail term for the rape offense.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Mmantsheke Lekhele, praised Detective Captain Godfrey Khatwane and Detective Constable Beverley Matlhale for their meticulous investigation, which resulted in the successful conviction of the defendant.

The painstaking work of these investigators was vital in ensuring that the culprit was held accountable for his heinous and reprehensible deeds.
