Ugandan Businessman Marries Seven Wives Same Day

Ssaalongo Nsikonenne Habib Ssezzigu, a Ugandan businessman, married seven wives on the same day.

The wedding ceremony was performed at Bugereka village, Mukono district on September 10, 2023.

Two of his seven wives are biological sisters.

The ceremony began about 8 a.m. when the women were escorted to local salons for styling before being placed in waiting for Super Custom vans with unique plates carrying each bride’s name.

Following the exchange of marital vows, Nsikonnene and his seven wives led a large parade through the towns of Kalagi, Kasana, and Nakifuma, before arriving at their residence at 6 p.m.

The wedding ceremony began with a concert, followed by the couples driving in a convoy to applause from others who had gathered on the roadside to witness the ceremony.

Some individuals couldn’t believe it was real, while others said it was their first time witnessing such an event.

Mariam, Madinah, Aisha, Zainabu, Fatuma, Rashida, and Musanyusa, Habib’s first wife who has been with him for seven years, are among the spouses.

The Ugandan Businessman also purchased brand-new cars as gifts for each of his wives.

The brides arrived at the reception to find their chairs ready and labelled with their names.

In his address during the reception, Nsikonnene praised his wives for their loyalty to him.

“My wives harbour no jealousy amongst themselves,” he declared with pride.

“I introduced them separately and decided to wed them all at once to make one big happy family.”

He stated that he intends to add more wives in the future.

“I am still a young man and in the near future, God willing, I cannot say this is the end of it,” he added.

Hajj Abdul Ssemakula, the groom’s father, stated that polygamy has been practised in his family, adding that his grandpa had six wives who were divided by curtains in a single residence.

“My own late father had 5 wives and I myself have four wives who live in one house,” he said.

Habib is claimed to have broken the Ugandan record for marrying the most wives at once.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
