Hello, Great Mothers!
A Godly child is one who is well-trained in the way of the Lord. Even though the system of the world is ungodly, and is often celebrated. Every Christian parent has the responsibility of raising Godly children.
A child learns the fundamental principles of life in the home. This serves as their first classroom. In the family, a child picks up politeness, respect, how and when to pray, etc. Every child is taught ethics and values at home. These later serve as the child’s guiding principles in life. They are what define our character. They establish the framework for our children’s thoughts.
Therefore, It is our responsibility to give our children the tools they need to stand against the deceits of the world and live their lives according to the standards of God. We do this, by firmly placing Jesus at the center of our children’s developing minds.
I have discussed different approaches to this in my previous articles. I shall be discussing the danger of not training a child in a Godly way in this article.
The dangers are;
1)The enemy may utilize them as toys.
2) They will bring shame to us and the household of God
3) They may end up serving strange gods which may lead them to destruction.
4) The parents of such a child will not have peace in their old age.
5) They will become a liability to society, e.g. terrorists.
6) God’s covenant with the family may be canceled. For instance, God’s covenant with the generation of Eli was canceled because of his children’s immoral behavior.
Our goal as mothers is to raise godly children who not only understand morality but also have a personal relationship with God. We want our kids to develop a love and passion for God that spills over into a love for people.
To achieve this, we must train our children from childhood to shun the deceits of the world, put their faith in God, and live a supernatural life, walking in His Spirit.
