God Gives Victory

The Book of Chronicles contains a unique story about a battle in which Judah was involved. The initial action taken in the campaign involved the king of Judah assembling all his people and offering a prayer to God. During this prayer, he humbly expressed their uncertainty and sought guidance on the course of action to be taken. We lack the strength to face this overwhelming multitude that is coming against us, but we are placing our trust in You. Afterwards, a prophet arrived and provided him with assurance of victory. The following day, they prepared for battle. The scene had a unique arrangement: prominently positioned at the forefront were the priests and Levites, holding their musical instruments, rather than soldiers armed with spears and bows. As they marched into battle, they accompanied themselves with a song that proclaimed, “The Lord is gracious and merciful.” His mercy endures forever. Then, through divine intervention, God fought on their behalf, causing their enemies to scatter, all without the need for swords or spears.

Beloved, when we recognize our helplessness, God becomes our source of help. Believing in our strengths often reveals our weaknesses. By acknowledging our powerlessness, we open ourselves up to being filled by the power of God. We should trust in God for help and anticipate that it will be provided according to His timing and method.  Regardless of the situation at hand, keep in mind that God protects and grants victory to those who seek His refuge.

For the LORD your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory!’ – Deuteronomy 20:4 NLT

“A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.”
