Saved By Grace

Peter was a devout follower, dedicated to Christ, a person of great faith and virtue. However, during a moment of vulnerability, he made a grave mistake by denying his Lord and Redeemer on three separate occasions.

Just like Peter, we are all imperfect and prone to making mistakes as human beings. Are we Saved?  Yes. Redeemed?  Yes. Justified?  Yes. Sanctified?  Absolutely. We have access to all of these blessings and even more through Christ. However, all of us have our flaws (1Jn 1:8-10). Peter faced a moment of temptation and succumbed to it, but he did not find himself abandoned. The Lord graciously restored his erring child.

Peter presents a clear and compelling argument that those who receive God’s grace are eternally secure (Joh 10:27-29). Those who have a strong connection with Christ can find comfort and assurance in their faith. We are kept and preserved by the power of God. Nothing can ever separate someone who belongs to the Lord from him. Just as our Lord interceded for Peter, he intercedes for us as well. God will not charge any with Sin for whom Christ undertakes to be an Advocate (1Jn 2:1-2; Rom 4:8). None of us can claim to be exceptionally faithful. Who would dare? But we all have reason to boast of the faithfulness of God our Savior, who will not let us perish.
