No Favoritism In God

Recognizing and appreciating the blessings others have can bring joy in acknowledging God’s generosity. The sun rises and the rain falls without discrimination, affecting both the good and the evil, the just and the unjust (Matt 5:45). It is important to avoid believing false information about God and your neighbor, as this can lead to harmful comparisons and misguided beliefs. Many times, we unfairly assume that our neighbor doesn’t deserve our happiness, affection, admiration, or even our heartfelt supplications because of who they are or what they have. Can you see how morally wrong that position is? It causes us to overlook the divine presence in others and look down on them for receiving blessings from God.

There is a common misconception that God shows favoritism. It appears that he has been showing preferential treatment towards someone else, rather than towards you. According to Romans 2:11, it is a fact that God does not show favoritism. Your neighbors’ blessings are not due to any special favor from God. God, in His infinite wisdom, has the power to give some people green grass and others even greener grass. Both yards show that God cares for them equally.

If you don’t receive what you want after asking, consider it a form of protection. God may choose to withhold certain blessings, as what benefits others may not be suitable for you. God knows you better than you know yourself. Be careful when desiring gifts that you haven’t received.
