Big Brother Naija ‘All Stars’ finalist, Mercy Eke, has said that she is keeping her relationship private because of her past experiences.
The ‘Pepper Dem’ winner stated this in an episode of the Celebrity Quickies, where she disclosed that she has found love again.
According to Mercy, she decided to keep the identity of her new lover secret because she made some mistakes in the past by putting her dating life online.
She said; “I consider my dating life private. I think I have made a couple of mistakes with my dating life, putting out everything on social media. But lately, I can say this part of my life is still very private.”
Keeping your relationship private is defined by how limited the details you share to other people about your relationship. Research has even shown that posting on social media is damaging to relationships because it creates feelings of jealousy and conflict from people. So keeping your relationship private will help you get rid of competition and comparison.
While it is important to realize that keeping things private does not mean keeping them a secret, an element of privacy is necessary for a healthy partnership.
