Sokoto Calm on Second Day of Nationwide Protest, Heavy Security Deployed

Sokoto has remained calm with heavy security presence after protest-related vandalism that took place on Thursday.

Sokoto metropolis has remained calm in the second day of the nationwide protest against hunger and bad governance as no protesters are sighted anywhere in the metropolis.

How ever, heavy security presence is seen in strategic locations in the state to forestall further damage as yesterday protest resulted in vandalisation of some government properties.

People are going about their normal business only that the main market in the metropolis remain closed  only smaller stalls outside the main entrance of the market are operating.

Banks and other corporate organizations are also not opened for operations to guide against possible attacks by hoodlums.

Also at the Sultan Palace security personnel including Nigeria Army are stationed at the front of the palace where a large gathering of protesters assembled on Thursday.
