Nigeria’s Ugwunwa Wins Silver In The Paralympic Javelin 2024

At the ongoing Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, Flora Ugwunwa of Nigeria has won a silver medal in the women’s Javelin F54 event.

After setting a world record with a throw of 21.12 meters, Uzbek athlete Nurkhon Kurbanova placed second in the competition with a throw of 19.26 meters.

Nigeria now has four medals overall in the women’s javelin category with Ugwunwa’s achievement.

The forty-year-old Nigerian has kept up her good work, winning three gold medals in a row (from Rio and Tokyo) and now a silver medal (from Paris).

Elham Salehi of Iran won the bronze medal with a throw of 16.24 meters.

Additional medal winners for Team Nigeria include Onyinyechi Mark and Eniola Bolaji.
