Afrobeats musician Davido is scheduled to play at a gathering organized by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
One of the six main UN bodies, with its headquarters located in New York, the UNGA is primarily responsible for policymaking, deliberation, and representation within the organization.
In a tweet via X on Tuesday, Davido said he will be playing at one of the events at the UNGA tonight.
“Touch down New York City for the @UN General Assembly. My first time attending should be interesting,” he wrote.
“Also performing tonight at one of the events ! Catch me if u can!”
Additionally, the Grammy-nominated performer advised his audience to look forward to his performance.
Davido made his declaration just a few days after Nigerian music jockey DJ Cuppy created history at the UNGA. She presided over the event’s opening session.
Cuppy stressed during her talk the significance of getting young people everywhere involved in meaningful conversations.
