CAN Directs Lord’s Chosen To Vet Testimony Before Presentation

The Lagos State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has instructed the leadership of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries to review how its members give testimony during gatherings.

This comes after outrage over a viral testimonial published by one of its members, which the Christian organization slammed as false.

The story involves an unidentified member who said that an old guy appeared to her during an examination and answered questions, which she then shared with another member of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries who was also present in the exam hall.

Bishop Stephen Adegbite, Chairman of Lagos CAN, denounced the testimony as “an utter fabrication” and confirmed that the church will convene for a conference to address such allegations.

During an interview with PUNCH, Adegbite confirmed the meeting had taken place and stated that the church leadership had been told to adjust their approach to sharing testimony in the future.

“We had the meeting last Friday at the CAN secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos. Representatives of the church were there, and we told them to be careful and review the pattern of their testimonies. It is only a madman who would think otherwise,” Adegbite said.

He further stated that the meeting was attended by the five CAN bloc leaders and coordinators from all 57 local government areas in the state, as well as over 100 other people.

“Everybody was on the same page. We reject vehemently any testimony that is not reasonable and sensible, which can be misleading and bring disrepute to the name of Christ. We reject it in its entirety.

“We told the leaders to ensure that they ask their members what they want to say before giving them the microphone. If what they want to say is not good for public consumption, it should be disallowed. God still performs miracles. We must say the truth and nothing but the truth,” the CAN chairman added.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
