Bolanle Ninalowo Reveals Why He Allowed His Daughter Pierce Her Navel

Nigerian actor Bolanle Ninalowo has explained why he permitted his daughter Aliyah, who is eighteen, to have a navel piercing.

In an interview with media personality VJ Adams, Ninalowo claimed that when Aliyah first indicated interest in getting a tongue piercing, he turned her down and advised her to think about alternative options.

He claimed that she finally suggested getting a navel piercing, which he accepted as it is simple to take off. “I agreed to her request, drove her to the appointment, and covered the cost because I wanted to keep a close relationship with my daughter,” he stated.

“I remember one day my daughter woke me up and said she wanna get a tongue ring, and I took a moment to think then I said, ‘Yo Aliyah, a tongue ring, I wouldn’t want to kiss a girl with a tongue ring but think about something else,’ and she was like okay, I will think about it,” he said.

“So she came back and said, ‘I now know what I want, I could get a belly button ring,’ and I am like that is more like it because you can remove it anytime. I drove her there myself. As much as I would rather not want that, but that was an opportunity for me to connect, so I would not stop that.”

Last year, Ninalowo announced the end of his marriage to Bunmi, citing irreconcilable differences.

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
