Chioma Chukwuka Reveals How She Learned Yoruba for Netflix Series Seven Doors

Actress Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha of Nollywood has shared how she trained for her part in the new Netflix series Seven Doors.

Akpotha brings to life a tale of royalty, kinship, family, love, betrayal, and restitution in Seven Doors as an Igbo queen married to a Yoruba king (Femi Adebayo).

She had to speak Yoruba fluently for her job. The actress claimed to have learnt Yoruba specifically for her role in the series in a TVC interview with her co-star Femi Adebayo.

“I had to learn Yoruba for my role in Seven Doors,” she remarked. I had to be extremely picky about the tone because the Yoruba in the film was not the typical one spoken in Lagos State.

It is important to remember that the US Agency for International Development (USAID) crowned  Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha as its first Goodwill Ambassador for Nutrition in Nigeria.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
