I was Offered Performance-Enhancing Drugs At Chelsea – Mikel Obi

Mikel Obi, the former captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, has revealed that Chelsea offered him performance-enhancing drugs.

He revealed this after Chelsea player Mykhailo Mudryk was given a provisional suspension by the Football Association after failing a drug test on Tuesday of this week.

Shortly after the news broke, the Ukraine international issued a statement claiming he had “done nothing wrong” in response to the suspension.

The former Chelsea player responded to this situation by saying that Mudryk is innocent until and unless proven guilty on the Obi One Podcast.

“For him (Mudryk) and his family, I hope he is innocent. I remember when we were playing, if someone was offering me something, I would ask you what it was”, Mikel said on the Obi One podcast.

“I’m responsible for what I put in my body, what I eat, and stuff like that. People around will offer you stuff—friends, friends of friends—they will tell you that this will give you this or it will give you one or two more percent in your performances, and I’m like, What is this? Is this legal?

“I tell them to go away; I don’t want to talk about it. We have to take responsibility for our actions and what we eat. But for now, Mudryk is innocent until proven guilty.”
