Police Arrest Three Suspects With Human Skull In Imo

Imo State Police officers detained three suspects after discovering a human sk*ll belonging to an unidentified person at Ogii Community in the Okigwe local government area of the state.

DSP Henry Okoye, a spokesperson for Imo State Command, told reporters that the suspects were Patrick Okoere, 29, Ifeanyichukwu Anyaemeka, 28, and Chukwuemeka Onyekachi, 20, all from Amasiri in the Afikpo local government area of Ebonyi State, and that they were arrested on February 3.

The suspects stated that one Osunta Oko, Patrick’s uncle, wanted them to procure a human sk*ll for him to use in a land dispute involving other persons.

Other items discovered on the accused were a local fowl and white clothing.

They recovered the sk*ll from a riverside in Ogii, along the Okigwe-Umuahia Expressway, which DSP Okoye said was renowned for kidnappings and missing individuals.

“As part of the Imo State Police Command’s continued efforts to curb criminal activities in the state, operatives of Okigwe divisional headquarters, in collaboration with residents of Ogii community, on 3/02/2025, arrested three suspects found in possession of a human skull, a native hen and white garments along the Okigwe-Umuahia Express Road.

“The three individuals arrested—Patrick Okoere (29), Ifeanyichukwu Anyaemeka (28), and Chukwuemeka Onyekachi (20)—are currently under investigation. During questioning, Patrick stated that his uncle, Osunta Oko, had asked him to acquire a human skull. He claimed to have found it along a riverbank on the Okigwe-Umuahia Expressway, an area where the command has received cases of kidnappings,” police said in the statement.

Okoye further revealed that a manhunt has been initiated for the purported uncle, Mr Oko, emphasizing that a Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) test will be performed to identify the deceased person with the skull.

“The Imo State Police Command is actively pursuing Osunta Oko and other possible accomplices in connection with this disturbing incident. In addition, a DNA analysis is underway to determine the identity of the skull’s owner,” he said.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
