Another Unilorin Student Rescued From Attempted Suicide

According to reports, another University of Ilorin, Kwara State, mass communication student was saved from an attempted suicide.

The event took place on campus on Monday night, February 3, 2024, according to the Guardian.

According to reports, he was rescued when onlookers in a nearby bush noticed a rope around his neck and promptly sounded the alarm.

The student needed immediate medical attention and was taken to the institution’s medical center.

The tragedy occurs after another student from the same department killed himself at his home in Tanke, Ilorin’s Oke-Odo neighborhood.

While his roommate was away at lectures last week, the student, whose name was withheld, consumed a poisonous substance.

A suicide note discovered at the scene revealed his incapacity to handle the monetary difficulties resulting from the present economic downturn.

Despite help from colleagues who paid for his tuition and living expenses, the student was unable to fulfill his financial responsibilities, a university insider informed the publication.

A senior university official who attested to both occurrences called them startling and bemoaned the predicament of students facing financial difficulties.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
