It was learned by Daily Post that the state government was to deduct the money and pay it to the union on behalf of the workers.

The workers, however, are unable to access their voluntary savings or acquire loans since the 17 months of deductions were not repaid by the State, according to the union.

In a statement both signed by their president, Bodude Tanimola, and their general manager, Sunday Ajayi, they asked Abiodun to put an end to the unnecessary deaths resulting from refusal to release their entitlements.

Many letters submitted to Gov. Abiodun, the Head of Service and others were disregarded, according to union leaders.

According to the statement, “There is the inability of our members to take care of their immediate and extended family’s welfare.

“There is also the inability to give out loans to our co-operative members.
