“The family of the former president has announced the passing of Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London. May Allah accept him into Aljannatul Firdaus, Amin,” he expressed.

Buhari had been facing an undisclosed illness and was recently discharged from the intensive care unit in London, as shared by family sources. His condition deteriorated while he was still under observation following a routine medical visit, which has left many in the nation mourning the loss of a significant figure in Nigerian politics.

The former president, a retired major general, first served as military head of state from 1983 to 1985 before returning as an elected president in 2015. His two terms in office, which concluded in 2023, were marked by a dedicated anti-corruption agenda, economic reforms, and persistent efforts to improve national security.

As we remember his contributions and legacy, funeral arrangements will be announced in the coming hours. Tributes are beginning to pour in from across Nigeria as people come together to honor his memory during this difficult time.
