One of the most intelligent and creative midfielders in football; Christian Eriksen, suddenly collapsed on the pitch of Parken Stadium during his country’s Euro 2020 game against Finland.

It’s was a very emotional scene as players and fans were crying after seeing Eriksen receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation at Saturday’s match in Copenhagen.

The 29-year-old Inter Milan midfielder fell to the ground towards the end of the first half. He was immediately surrounded by medical staff who began pumping his chest as distraught teammates formed a protective ring around him.

The swiftness of the emergency team used in attending to him is top notched. After being treated on the pitch for around 10 minutes, Eriksen was stretchered off the pitch and appeared to be conscious while fans gave him a loud ovation.

UEFA, later announced that the Group B clash, which was scoreless, had been suspended.

“The UEFA EURO 2020 match in Copenhagen has been suspended due to a medical emergency,” it tweeted.
With all the players from both sides emotionally down and the match suspended, the good news is the Denmark Star is now awake, fine, and responsive.

“Christian Eriksen is out of danger, his father told me from the hospital. He’s able to speak”, says Martin Schoots, Eriksen agent.

Meanwhile, the match is set to restarts at 20.30 CET.

Wishing him a quick recovery.
