Motherhood: At what Age Should I Introduce To My Child A SmartPhone? 8

Hello, Great Mothers!

Introducing a smartphone to our children entails some responsibilities. As mothers, we may want to get smartphones for our children to help them communicate, track their movements, and study. However, it is critical to understand that excessive smartphone use can hurt their mental health.

As a result, as soon as we provide our children with a smartphone, we must establish clear guidelines for its use. It is worth noting that following these rules is equally important for the guidelines’ effectiveness.

My previous article discussed the benefits and drawbacks of introducing smartphones to children, as well as considerations before giving them their first device.

This article will outline specific guidelines aimed at mitigating excessive smartphone use among children.

Keep Smartphones out of the Bedroom at Night

Allowing children to use their phones in their bedrooms at night may result in late-night texting or chatting, disrupting their sleep patterns. This can lead to late bedtimes, which causes tiredness upon waking and, as a result, impairs their focus in school, affecting academic performance.

Sleep deprivation can contribute to irritability, mood swings, and behavioral problems in children. It may also raise the likelihood of anxiety and depression.

Furthermore, nighttime phone use exposes children to online activities that may cause stress or cyberbullying.

To achieve a better result, a central charging station in the home can be designated for phones, including those of adults, overnight. Additionally, implementing a screen timeout and establishing a specific time at night when everyone in the household is expected to stop using their phones can be beneficial.

God notices your dedication to caring for your home; He will bless you accordingly. So, be joyful, for a happy mother nurtures a happy home.

Bye!

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
