Motherhood: Ways To Protect Your Teen From Alcohol And Other Drugs 5

Hello Great Mothers!

The use of Alcohol by teenagers is a serious concern for many nations of the world. This is because it has destroyed many, and caused the death of many. Even though its negative effects on their development are well-pronounced, teenagers still get involved in alcohol.

The causes of teenage alcoholism have been discussed in my previous articles. Alcoholism hurts the development of the brain of a teenager; the reasoning and sense of judgment. This is because at this stage the brain is still developing. It is important to point out here that the decision to take or not to take alcohol is personal.

However, all mothers are encouraged to ensure their children are well informed on the negative effects of alcohol and other hard drugs. This knowledge will help them take their stand on the intake of alcohol, even when they are being lured by their friends. When your child displays any of these signs, then he /she may be involved in alcohol;

1)Emotional instability

According to a study, the use of alcohol by teens disrupts the expression of a protein that is essential for brain development.

Additionally, teens who overuse alcohol may have severe mood fluctuations. They occasionally may come out as aggressive and confrontational, or they may act in an out-of-the-ordinary manner.
