PDP to APC: Give Niger To Us In The Exact Condition That We Gave It To You

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Niger State has urged the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state not to pass on the present system’s decay to it in 2023.

Instead, it asked the ruling party to reignite the breakdown and give over the state in the same manner as it was in 2015.

The PDP, through its state chairman, Bar. Tanko Beji, stated this in Minna, the state capital, saying that whatever is not working in the areas of security, economy, and education, among others, should be revived.

He said, “The system seems to have broken down, the economy is weak, the security situation has degenerated, education is at its lowest web. Government should do something to revive this. So that, when they are handing over to us, they will be handing over what we gave to them. We will ensure that we win, it’s on the front burner.”

He also stated that the party will not change its stance on zoning, claiming that the state’s governorship seat has been assigned to the Niger South Senatorial District.

“We are still maintaining our zoning formula. Our Governorship seat has been zoned to zone ‘A’, Niger South Senatorial District. It is achievable and all those picking interests are from the zone. I must say that anyone that tries to kick against it will meet a thick wall,” the chairman stated.

He also stated that decisions made by party members will not be changed under the leadership of the new administration.

He stated that the power would be returned to the people at both the local and ward levels, giving them a role in the party’s activities.

He said, “We want to take the party back to the people and we won’t change the decisions of members. We will give back power to them. What the members desire is what we are going to do after that the ground will be fertile.”
