Saturday Of Week 33 In Ordinary Time  

Rev 11:4-12 Luke 20:27-40 In today’s gospel, the Sadducees questioned Jesus about what they do not believe, that is, the after life. They were rooted in curiosity rather than have faith in the gift of the person of our Lord standing right in front of them. They wanted to trick Jesus just like many today who still have doubt about the after life and other doctrines of Christianity laid down by Christ himself. Their story of a woman with seven husbands reminds us of the story of Sarah the wife of Tobias in the book of Tobit. Jesus answers them reminding them that he is God not of the dead but the living. He is a merciful Father.

He is LIFE and He fully restores. The answer is so powerful that they never bothered him again with their folly because He has just laid waste their stronghold about the resurrection.
