Seek Him

Seek Him

Are you feeling restless?Depressed? Confused?Do you feel the enemy has done his worse or the worse is yet to happen? In your search for answers, Look up to God. True wisdom begins and ends with God.

When Abraham Lincoln was compaigning to be the president of the United States of America, he had an antagonist. The opponent personally insulted with hateful speeches and many times, called him derogatory names. One of such names was ‘Baboon.’ The level of debasement the enmity had degenerated into was unimaginable.

One day, the Opposition said to Lincoln, “if you are looking for baboon, don’t go to the Zoos, just go to the white house”. However, most surprising is the fact that when Abraham Lincoln eventually became President, he chose this man as his defence secretary! He brought the enemy closer.

People condemned him for that and thought this is gross level of stupidity , yet he would not change his mind.
When he was assassinated in 1865, at his burial, this former enemy of his wept aloud and said, “This was a man who knew how to turn the bitterest enemy into a close friend!”.

Psalm 97:10 says Let those who love the Lord hate evil.”

We have good reason to “hate evil,” only if we consider what harm it has already wrought to us. Oh, what a world of mischief sin has brought into our heart! Sin blinded us so that we could not see the beauty of the God who sends sunshine and rain on both his children and the enemies, and of Saviour; who made the deaf hear and the dumb speak in order to pay attention to Redeemer’s tender invitations, who hold the world in his hands.

Sin has torn us apart, turned our feet into the way of death, and poured poison into the very fountain of our being; it tainted thy heart, and made it “deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked.”
Oh, what a beast we are when evil had done its utmost with you, before divine grace interposed!

We are an heir of wrath even as others; We too in anger “run with the multitude to do evil.” Such were all of us; but Paul reminds us, You are God’s chosen race; HIS SAINTS; he loves you, and you should be clothed in sincere compassion, in kindness and humility, gentleness and patience…put on Love…Let the messages Christ in all his richness find a home with you.“ Col 3:12-17.

Be thankful to God always.

Beloved in Christ, we have good reason, indeed, for hating evil when we look back and trace its deadly workings and manipulations. Such mischief did evil do us, that our souls would have been lost had not omnipotent love intervene to redeem us. Even now it is an active enemy fuming with its poisonous cup of wrath, ever watching to do us hurt the more and to drag us to perdition.

Therefore “hate evil,” O Christians, unless you desire trouble. If you would strew your path with thorns, and plant nettles in your death-pillow, then neglect to “hate evil:” but if you would live a happy life, and die a peaceful death, then walk in all the ways of holiness, hating evil, even unto death.

If you truly love your Saviour, and would honour him, then “hate evil.” We know of no cure for the love of evil in a Christian like abundant relationship with the Lord Jesus who tells us today as always to Love your enemies! Be compassionate as your Heavenly Father is compassionate!

God encourages us to extend hands of fellowship to even our enemies (Prov. 25:21,22; KILL THEM WITH KINDNESS!

Dwell much with him, and it is impossible for you to be at peace with sin.

“Order my footsteps by thy Word,
and make my heart sincere;
Let sin have no dominion, Lord,
But keep my conscience clear.”

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
