13 Boko Haram Suspects Captured, 8 Dead, Several On The Run As Nigerian Military And Airforce Rain Fire

13 alleged Boko Haram members have been captured after they attempted to attack a military garrison at Wawa in the Borgu local government area of Niger State.

The attack on the military barracks reportedly took place on Saturday night, October 29, 2022.

Six suspects were captured at a farmland in Wawa, two in Wawa town, and five others at Gada Oli on the outskirts of Wawa town as they attempted to flee to the border of Nigeria and the Benin Republic after the Nigerian Air Force and the Army joined forces to prevent the terrorists from entering the military barracks.

It was also discovered that security personnel, who are in charge of the facility chased the suspects, as some of them reportedly fled through the Mokwa and New Bussa areas after the attack on the military cantonment in Wawa.

During the attack, the military engaged the group, killing eight people and taking three commanders into custody.

However, some of the members fled in different directions as a result of the military’s intense military action from the Air Force Base New Bussa.
