Omoyele Sowore, the organizer of the Take-it-Back Movement, has firmly declared that he will not participate in the suggested alliance between ex-presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
Sowore further clarified that he has no intention of associating with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) prior to the presidential election scheduled for 2027.
During his interview on Arise TV’s Politics Today, Sowore explicitly stated that his allegiance lies solely with what he referred to as “the coalition of the oppressed.”
He elaborated: “I’m not joining any coalition. The coalition they joined in 2013 and 2015 is what brought about the APC, so joining another coalition in 2025 is doing the same thing all over again without thinking of achieving the same set of results.
The coalition that needs to be built is that of the oppressed. Joining another coalition made up of the same people who created the coalition that ruined Nigeria is an injustice and an injury to the people of Nigeria.
So you can never see me in their coalition and I will never be part of it. I’m not joining the SDP. I’m not part of those playing chess with the destiny of Nigerians.”
Reports indicate that Atiku, Obi, and Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, have united to form a coalition with the objective of unseating President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election.
Atiku disclosed this development during a press conference organized by the Concerned Leaders and Political Stakeholders in Nigeria.
He cautioned the government against placing personal political ambitions above the stability of the nation, warning that any effort to cling to power regardless of the consequences could thrust the country into turmoil. He stressed that the matter extended beyond Rivers State and pertained to the very future of Nigeria’s democratic system.
A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
