29-Year-Old Man Commits Suicide Over Inability To Repay Debt

Terver Orfega, a 29-year-old from Benue State, killed himself because he couldn’t pay back a business debt.

Ortega was the manager of the Second Pot Restaurant, which is situated along Lobito Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja, until his untimely demise.

It was learned that he purportedly obtained a loan facility to finance his enterprise.

However, after trying in vain to pay back the money, he descended into depression.

On October 31, 2023, Orfega was discovered dead in his hotel room in Garki after consuming a toxic substance thought to be sniper.

Ortega once confided in his friend Mercy Akwari that he was struggling with depression, but she didn’t take it seriously.

On November 4, 2023, the deceased was buried in his hometown in the Kwande Local Government Area of Benue.

Friends and acquaintances have been mourning him on social media in the meantime.

In a Facebook post, Zaki Maaver urged Richard Terver, the deceased’s older brother, to stop blaming himself because Orfega “made his choice” despite his best efforts to assist him.

“Today, I’d like to celebrate you my darling Cousin Richard Terver You stood by Orfega all through, you suffered so many things; Arrests, Harassment, Assaults, Accidents, sleeplessness and lots More! You are not perfect but you tried your best as an elder Brother but Orfega Terver made his choice at the end of the day; please stop blaming yourself for not doing more.

“To me, You are THE WORLD’S BEST SIBLING and I want you to know that I Love you so much and I am very proud of you.
