7 Tips For Your Everyday Skincare Routine

You have a skincare routine whether you like it or not. Even if you apply a cleanser and a moisturizer, it’s still a skincare routine. Many choose their skincare products based on preference, brand, size, colour (yes, it’s possible), advertisement, etc.

They don’t know what ingredients most products carry and their effect on the skin. While that is a story for another day, here are some skincare tips you should know regardless of what product you use and how you use them;

• Everyone’s skin will have different needs. Just because something works for one person, doesn’t necessarily mean it will work for you.
• Do a test run of products or DIY mixtures on your skin before continuous usage to see how your skin reacts.
• Hydration is key. Drinking a lot of water daily will help your skin regain its health, and can make products more effective.
• Avoid alcohol and sugar. They only cause more wrinkles and fasten ageing on your skin
• Rethink your cleanser. If you have dry skin, use a creamy cleanser that won’t strip it of oils.
• Exfoliate at least once a month. Exfoliating removes dead cells on your skin so products can soak in faster.
• After you wash off cleansers, masks, or scrubs from your face, be sure to apply a hydrating moisturizer or oil afterward to enhance its effects.

You can’t do no wrong with these tips especially numbers 3 and 6. Skincare isn’t just what you apply to your skin, it’s also what you eat and how you apply.

It is important to prioritize a healthy lifestyle above all. It’s the key to maximizing every other effort you make for your body be it skin, mind and appearance.
