70-Year-Old Man Arrested For Allegedly Def!ling 11-Year-Old Girl

The Lagos State Police Command has detained a 70-year-old man, Afolabi Michael, for allegedly assaulting an 11-year-old girl.

The perpetrator was detained in response to a complaint filed by the girl’s mother.

Though the suspect denied having sexual intercourse with the girl, he did acknowledge to “deep romancing” with her.

In his confession to the police, the suspect said that he had been suffering from a weak erection for many years.

The incident was confirmed over the weekend by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesman for the Lagos State Police.

He stated that at approximately noon on September 27, 2024, a defilement case was moved from Iju Division to the Gender Unit of the Lagos State Police Command for a covert investigation.

According to Hundeyin, the complainant brought the case forward on her daughter’s behalf.

According to him, the complainant claimed that on occasion in July 2024, when school was on vacation and when the school resumed, the suspect defiled the survivor.

“She stated further that the suspect had sexual intercourse with the survivor multiple times. The suspect was cautioned in English Language where he confessed that he romanced the survivor, though he denied having sexual intercourse with her claiming that he has been suffering from weak erection for many years now,” the PPRO stated.

“However, the suspect has been arraigned in court for defilement on October 10, 2024 and has been remanded.”

According to Hundeyin, another instance of defilement against a man named Philip Agaku was reported to the Gender Unit of the Command on September 24.

He claimed that the girl, who is fifteen years old, is said to have been seeing the suspect since she was eight years old.
