Eucharia Anunobi, a seasoned actress and preacher, has warned Christians against getting married to unbelievers, highlighting the importance of spirituality as the cornerstone of marriage.
Anunobi asked why Christians would choose to date someone who doesn’t share their beliefs in a video posted on her Instagram page, comparing it to “purchasing a weapon to destroy oneself.”
She said, “How can you, as a woman or a man of God, a believer, operating a ministry, consider marrying an unbeliever. Someone is spiritually impotent, spiritually imbecile?
You have brought the weapon to destroy yourself, being a believer marrying an unbeliever.
“Those kisses, those hugs, those caresses with an unbeliever. There will be a Waterloo. Some of you are already engaging in activities in the other room and are a Waterloo. Some of you are already engaging in activities in the other room, and yet you are in ministry.
“You think being with an unbeliever will make your marriage sweet? You will be most miserable.”
Personally I feel marrying an unbeliever is often seen as a risky choice, as it can lead to personal and spiritual challenges. It highlights the importance of shared faith and values in building a strong, harmonious relationship.
Prioritizing spiritual compatibility may help ensure a more stable and lasting marriage.
